Goondiwindi Amateur Picnic Race Club | BETTING POLICY (ABN 58 834 436 452)

Goondiwindi Amateur Picnic Race Club conducts one meeting each year. While

the Goondiwindi Amateur Picnic Race Club conducts an annual meeting at Gunsynd

Park, the Club is a separate identity to the Goondiwindi Race Club and the two clubs

each operate under their own policies.

Goondiwindi Amateur Picnic Race Club operates under a “Closed regulated Ring which

means that the numbers of bookmakers are restricted to no more than 10 and the

previous year’s bookmakers have first rights.

All Bookmakers are required to field on Local Events in addition to any other board of

their choice from the main meetings in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne & Adelaide on that

day. Bookmakers will not be supported by a fluctuations service from the AJC Pricing

Fluctuations Service.

Bookmakers wishing to field at any particular meeting are required to confirm their

nominations to the Secretary of the Club by Wednesday noon preceding the meeting.

Bookmakers from the previous year that do not confirm will be removed from the draw

and will be replaced by any new bookmakers form the waitlist.

The Club will offer two different types of fielding – 1 Remote stand & 10 Main Ring

stands

  1. Remote Stand No 1 trackside under the tractor shed which will be for a bookmaker offering locals and all interstate betting.

  2. Main Ring with draw as follows

Bookmakers will nominate for their preferred position from the TWO choices by the

Wednesday at noon previous to the meeting. A draw will be conducted at 5pm that

day for remote stand if more than one bookmaker applies and the successful bookmaker

will be advised that day to allow enough time to staff the remote stand accordingly.

Unsuccessful Bookmakers will also be advised and then participate in the Main Ring

Draw under their preferred option. That draw will be conducted at noon on Friday as

normal.

Important to note: Any bookmaker that nominates for one of the eleven stands and is

not successful with the remote stand draw, cannot withdraw. If any bookmakers does

withdraw, he or she will be removed from Goondiwindi Amateur Picnic Race Club future draws

indefinitely.

It is expected that patrons will consist of a nucleus of serious punters who may bet in

larger amounts, owners of local horses who are entitled to bet to win up to $1,000 in a

single bet and a large percentage of social punters who generally place smaller bets.

Bookmakers must clearly display their name and intentions of betting Win Only, Each

Way or when in sufficient runners to pay 1-2-3. Bookmakers are also required to stay on

course until at least 20 minutes has passed from the last “Correct Weight” signal on

any field in which they were operating.
