Do I need to pre-book my entry tickets?

Yes! In 2024, tickets for the Goondiwindi Picnic Races must be purchased online. Please visit our Tickets page for more information on ticketing. Tickets will not be for sale at the gate this year.

Can I attend if I am under 18?

Unfortunately, no. The Goondiwindi Picnic Races is an 18+ event only. Remember to bring your ID - you’ll need it for entry!

Mothers/fathers with babies who are still breast/bottle feeding - you are welcome to bring your bub.

How do I get to the track?

Gunsynd Park is located at: Racecourse Road, 41 McDougall St, GOONDIWINDI, QLD 4390. Our Picnic Races Courtesy Buses will be running again this year. Stay tuned for pick-up and travel times.

Can I park my car at the races?

Limited free parking is available all day at Gunsynd Park. Disabled parking facilities will be located close to the track entrance. The best way to get to the races is to catch one of our FREE courtesy buses from town.

Can I camp at the race track?

No, but you can camp at the Showgrounds just down the road, and we’ll have buses running to get you safely to and from the event.

Can I bring furniture to the event?

No need for you to bring chairs, marquees or table to our event (in fact, you’ll be asked to leave them at the gate). But rest assured, we wil have plenty of seats and places to sit down at the track.

What time will the gates open/close?

Gates to Gunsynd Park will be open from 12:00pm AEST. Bars will open at 12:00pm AEST with the first race commencing at 1:30pm AEST. Gates will close at 11:45pm AEST when all racegoers will be required to vacate the premises.

Will food and beverages be available on the day?

Food and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be available for purchase on the day for purchase. We will also cater for Gluten Free options. Our bars are cashless so please bring your card with you. Payment via card (Visa and Mastercard) will be accepted.

Can I bring my own food to the event?

Attendees may bring their own food to the races. Alcohol must not be brought onto the premises as the races is a licensed event.

What time will Fashions on the Field commence?

Fashions on the Field nominations must be submitted by 2pm, with the competition commencing at 3pm. For more information visit our Fashions on the Field page.

Will there be ATM facilities available at the track?

Yes, ATMs will located at the track. ATMs are also available in the town centre.

How do I find lost property?

All valuables such as phones, cards, keys, jewellery will be taken to the Police station for collection from Sunday lunch time. All other items will be left on a table at the entry gate on Sunday morning.

Can I attend if I am banned from licensed Goondiwindi venues?

Unfortunately not. If you are currently banned from licensed venues in Goondiwindi, you won’t be able to attend our race day.

What if it is raining?

Our race day will be going ahead rain, hail or shine - so we hope to see you there!

How can I get to Goondiwindi?

If there has been adverse weather, we recommend you allow plenty of time and check out the QLD Road Conditions website before you leave.

Can I get a refund for my ticket?

We don’t offer refunds for our tickets, but you can choose to re-sell your ticket privately at a fair and reasonable price. We recommend doing so via Tixel. Some people post on our Facebook event, and other use local buy swap and sell pages. Use your judgement and try to avoid the scammers. There is *NO* name change fee for ticket resale.

What if the name on my ticket doesn’t match my ID?

It won’t matter if the name on your ticket doesn’t match your ID. Each ticket can only be used once, so, as long as you have the ticket (that hasn't already been scanned) and your ID at the front gate, that’s all we need!
